Pterygium

It often appears in the eyes of patients who work outdoors or who generally report increased exposure to sunlight. It has a triangular shape and is a layer of fibrovascular tissue that starts from the sclerokeratoid border and extends towards the cornea.
Surgical removal is indicated either for aesthetic reasons or when it affects the optical axis and reduces vision.
