Chalazion
A chalazion is caused by a blockage of a meibomian gland (eyelid gland) and this results in the formation of a chalazion slowly.
It is painful when it forms. Local treatment includes eyelid hygiene with warm compresses and topical antibiotic ointment on the eyelids, both outside and inside the eye. When chalazions do not subside with local treatment, they require surgical removal.
