Myopia

It is a very common refractive error in which the patient sees distant objects blurry, but close objects clearly. It occurs when the axial length of the eye is longer than normal, resulting in images being focused in front of the retina instead of on it.
The treatment is the use of corrective glasses, contact lenses and refractive laser surgery.
